Artwork: the ego & fan

Artwork 'the ego & fan' represents my journey towards living more authentically, listening to my inner 'fan' instead of the demands of my ego.

Starting my coaching journey in October '23, I realized how often I acted from my ego—always striving for perfection, speed or strength, and sticking to old habits. While this drive helped me achieve things, it lacked the kindness and gratitude of the fan's perspective.

The fan reminds me to accept myself as I am, be patient and show compassion, even though it's sometimes still hard to tell the difference between the ego and fan. But I'm working on it, moving towards the fan more and more, aiming to be kinder and more loving to myself.

People are an intersection of character, emotions, brain, genes, and therefore complicated. I express this through all the different areas and colors in the artwork. Turning down the ego (literally). Getting to know yourself better step by step is something that interests me immensely and serves as a muse for my artworks.
